Lawmakers across the Country are fueling heated debates about banning children’s and young adult books in schools. The majority of these works deal with race and LGBTQ issues, while other complaints claim violence, profanity, graphic images and sexuality.

Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, joins “Start Your Day” to discuss schools banning books and why she feels it hurts students.
