Talented duo, Jon Hozier-Byrne and Patrick Ryan’s conversation provides an insight into the process of video productions where they share great knowledge on everything you want to know on how produce videos, including the steps in the creative process. They also chat on the process of creating the video Nina Cried Power by Hozier, Jon’s brother.

After teaching Film Studies at UCD, Jon Hozier-Byrne left academia to establish Stoneface Films when his directorial debut premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. From there, he has directed and produced music videos for Universal Music Group, Sony Music, and Rubyworks, and well as many others. He has twice been nominated for an Emerging Director Award, and his new short film, The Machine, starring Stephen Rea, will debut next summer. He is represented by Anne-Marie Curran of Arrow Films.

Patrick Ryan is an award-winning screenwriter and director based in Dublin. His writing work has placed as a Semi-Finalist in the Nicholl Fellowships, as well as being selected for the BBC Writersroom. His films have screened at festivals across the world, including a premiere at the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival for his first feature ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’. He has also directed short films and numerous music videos for international and independent artists. Patrick works under the banner of Lagoon Company, a production company he founded with cinematographer and long-time collaborator Tommy Fitzgerald.
