Hundreds gathered Wednesday night at a Citrus Heights bookstore to hear actor and comedian Patton Oswalt talk about the East Area Rapist. His late wife, Michelle McNamara, wrote the true crime book “I’ll be Gone in the Dark” about the serial killer, giving him the moniker the Golden State Killer. McNamara died before finishing the book. However, Oswalt, with the help of crime writer Paul Haynes and investigative journalist Billy Jensen, they were able to finish the best-seller.
